In order to find that answer, we went back to the official d7000 user manual. Nikon D7000 uses EN-EL15 Lithium-ion Battery which when fully charged gives you a battery life of approximately 1,050 shots (CIPA rating). More details about the Nikon D7000 EN-EL15 battery here.
This is a fairly high rating for a mid range DSLR camera battery. The only camera battery that we know of currently that beats this rating is that of Canon EOS 60D with battery life of 1,100 shots (CIPA rating).
